Nestlé Vietnam and Women's Union signing cooperation agreement

The cooperation programme aims to promote gender equality and empower women, contributing to supporting women, especially women in rural areas, to unlock their full potential in the era of digital transformation.

Under the agreement, Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. and the Vietnam Women's Union will focus on building capacity for women and Women's Union staff at all levels and carrying out humanitarian and social charity activities

The success of the Nestlé Accompanies Women programme between 2020 and 2022 has laid a strong foundation for the cooperation activities between the two sides over the next five years. By October, 20 provinces and cities nationwide will have joined the Nestlé Accompanies Women programme.

Meanwhile, 8,000 members have joined the training on nutritional knowledge and building healthy lifestyles. About 1.2 million families have gained access to product and nutritional information.

Ton Ngoc Hanh, vice president of the Vietnam Women's Union said, "Following the achievement in the 2020-2022 period, the Vietnam Women's Union and Nestlé Vietnam will closely follow the resolution of the 13^th National Women's Congress to continue the implementation of the Nestlé Accompanies Women programme. Therefore, I believe that the strategic cooperation between the two sides will contribute to empowering women and promoting the professional and effective operation of the Union."

Le Thi Hien, vice president of the Hung Yen Women's Union said, "During the implementation of the programme, the Vietnam Women's Union and Nestlé Vietnam have always listened to opinions and collected feedbacks. Thus, the programme can be implemented flexibly in accordance with the actual situation of each locality."

Binu Jacob, managing director of Nestlé Vietnam said, "Since our inception in Vietnam with the goal of promoting sustainable development, we have determined to enhance women's empowerment and gender equality. Gender equality is one of Nestlé's top priorities. The strategic cooperation agreement with the Women's Union for the next five years once again affirms Nestlé Vietnam's long-term commitment to joining hands to promote gender equality, empower women, and take care of health, nutrition, and safety for women and children in Vietnam."

The two sides share a common vision with a desire to promote gender equality, ensure the safety of women and children, and empower women to promote the development of Vietnamese women in the new era.
