In the context of a global manufacturing transition driven by AI, automation, and technological shifts, Vietnam is emerging as a strategic destination for international businesses seeking competitive production capabilities, flexible supply chains, and favourable investment conditions.
According to the National Statistics Office, Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index (IIP) rose by 7.8 per cent in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025 compared to the same period last year, the highest growth rate in the past five years.
The manufacturing and processing sector, which is the main driver of industrial growth, saw a strong 10.1 per cent increase, continuing to lead the country’s industrial expansion.
However, to keep up this momentum in a market that’s becoming more and more competitive, Vietnamese businesses need to invest more in technology, streamline their operations, and most importantly, strengthen their ties with the global manufacturing network.
This is exactly where MTA Vietnam plays an important role, serving as a bridge that connects local companies with international partners, helping them grow, collaborate, and keep pace with the future of smart and sustainable production.

More than just a technology exhibition, MTA Vietnam 2025 is a long-term value creator for Vietnam’s manufacturing community through deep-dive networking and knowledge transfer activities.
The event renders a dedicated platform for business matching with a more targeted approach, enhancing meeting efficiency and expanding the supply chain for participating businesses.
MTA Vietnam 2025 features a comprehensive seminar series, focusing on critical areas such as semiconductors, automation, precision measurement, production technology, and supporting industries.
These programmes will deliver in-depth knowledge and serve as practical dialogue platforms for enterprises, experts, and policymakers.
Featuring speakers from the Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, PwC Vietnam, Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), the Ho Chi Minh City Centre for Supporting Industries Development (CSID), Foxconn, Besi, Ingrid, and Synopsys Vietnam, the international conference will explore Vietnam's semiconductor development strategy, including infrastructure, investment, workforce development, and global collaboration.
This year's Smart Sustainable Manufacturing Forum is being co-organised by Informa Markets Vietnam and the Vietnam Industrial Zone.
The forum will offer a strategic perspective on key trends such as sustainable smart manufacturing transformation, the shift towards next-generation integrated industrial zones, free trade zones, and logistics, factory relocation, and the journey towards future-ready industrial parks.
The event will feature the participation of policymakers, and economic and industrial experts, as well as representatives from businesses currently undertaking the transformation and relocation of their manufacturing models.
Meanwhile, the Sourcing Fair for Supporting Industries 2025 (SFS 2025) will be hosted by Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority, SHTP, and CSID.
SFS 2025 will serve as a direct bridge between more than 20 foreign-invested enterprises seeking suppliers and Vietnamese companies ready to join the supporting industry supply chain.
The programme aims to accelerate the localisation of production through genuine and effective business matchmaking, while also supporting domestic enterprises in enhancing their technological capabilities, product quality, and management standards.
This, in turn, will enable them to gradually integrate deeper into global value chains across key sectors such as precision engineering, industrial equipment, semiconductor technology, and aerospace.
Regarding technical and thematic seminars, MTA Vietnam 2025 will have expert-led sessions from organisations such as the Vietnam Automation Association, Ho Chi Minh Laboratory Association, Industry Vietnam Federation of Mechanical Engineering Associations, and Italian Manufacturing Technologies Vietnam.
Relevant topics will include the application of automation, AI, and digital transformation in mechanical manufacturing; Vietnam’s rail industry development; precision metrology and data traceability in quality management; clean energy and sustainable manufacturing; and European and Italian technology solutions for Vietnam.
Significantly, the MTA Automation Challenge for engineering students from leading universities will be a highlight of the event, bridging education and real-world practice.
The competition aims to help develop a high-quality next generation of young engineers to drive the future of the manufacturing industry.
