More than just a competition, the initiative aims to celebrate craftsmanship, ignite professional pride, and foster a unique bridge between the painter community and social responsibility.

The top three finalists of the contest will receive a cash prize of VND30 million ($1,146) each, along with a trophy and the prestigious “Golden Roller” certificate. The remaining 17 outstanding individuals in the top 20 will each be awarded a cash prize of VND5 million ($191). In addition, the competition features hundreds of exciting weekly prizes, offering more chances to win for all participants, with a total prize pool exceeding VND200 million ($7,644).
In addition to attractive prizes, the competition’s grand champion will have the opportunity to accompany Maxilite by Dulux in various media activities and take part in repainting underprivileged schools across the country, continuing the heartfelt journey of the “Paint the Future” campaign.
“We believe that when painters are empowered with opportunities for comprehensive development, from their professional skills to their sense of community connection, they become catalysts for positive change. With Maxilite - Golden Roller, we aim to foster a generation of painters who are not just experts in their field but also take pride in their role in building a better community,” shared Nguyen Phi Anh Dao, marketing and product management director of AkzoNobel ASEAN.
The Maxilite –-Golden Roller contest will be held online, featuring two official rounds. Round 1 (July 20-August 10), themed “A day at work with Maxilite”, invites participants to creatively share short videos capturing their work routines or impressions of Maxilite by Dulux.
The top 20 finalists will advance to round two (August 22-September 5), themed “Show your skills with Maxilite”. In this round, contestants will showcase their craftsmanship by producing a video that highlights the outstanding coverage ability of Maxilite Che Phu Hieu Qua by Dulux Interior.
“Paint the Future” is an annual project launched by Maxilite by Dulux in 2024 as part of AkzoNobel’s "Let’s Colour" initiative. In its first season, inspired by the “Vietnam Favourite Colour” collection, Maxilite by Dulux donated nearly 10,000 litres of paint to renovate over 20,000 square metres and complete 10 murals at underprivileged schools across Vietnam.
The project created inspiring learning and recreational spaces that encouraged students to go to school. Entering its second season, the programme is aiming to foster a lasting bond between the brand, painters, and the community through tangible and meaningful actions.
