Maxilite by Dulux launches “Paint the Future” campaign to renovate schools

Maxilite by Dulux initiated its “Paint the Future” community campaign on August 14 with a series of activities to renovate learning spaces in schools nationwide.

The campaign was launched at Tan Thanh Kindergarten in Dong Nai province, one of the schools that will be renovated this year.

"Maxilite by Dulux - Paint the Future" is a project under the framework of the Let’s Colour initiative and inspired by the "Paint the Future" announced by AkzoNobel recently, aiming to build a better world for everyone. The initiative also marks the 30th anniversary of Maxilite by Dulux in Vietnam, a leading paint brand in the mid-range segment trusted by generations of contractors and painters.

The campaign is scheduled to take place from late July to the end of August at deteriorating schools across the country. The colours used to repaint classrooms and school fences in this project were chosen from the “Vietnam Favourite Colour” collection designed by Maxilite by Dulux, and include Green Tea Hill, Pink Lotus, Golden Rice, and Blue Sea. Golden Rice, in particular, is to be used for canteen areas.

The idea was initiated by the "Yellow Canteen" project at the University of Florida. According to research, this colour has a positive impact on children's psyche, stimulating cheerful energy and excitement while repelling insects to maintain cleanliness and protect students’ health.

At the event, Nguyen Phi Anh Dao, marketing and product director of Southeast Asia and Vietnam, stated, “Among AkzoNobel’s community contribution initiatives, supporting education and nurturing the young generation is one of the core objectives. This repainting initiative for schools is also a meaningful activity marking the 30th anniversary of the Maxilite by Dulux’s presence in Vietnam. Through this programme, we hope to provide better learning and playing conditions for students, empowering them to shape the future. This is also a testament to AkzoNobel’s commitment to our corporate purpose: Paint The Future.”

Present in Vietnam since 1994, Maxilite by Dulux offers a product portfolio meeting the diverse needs of consumers, especially the demand for periodic home painting at reasonable costs, and projects with moderate budgets. The brand has helped to protect and beautify millions of homes and buildings in Vietnam. Notably, Maxilite's "Vietnam Favourite Colour" collection, introduced in 2023, has contributed to decorating over 2 million projects nationwide. With over 330 million litres of paint sold, more than 4,500 dealers, and over 25,000 professional contractors across the country, Maxilite has become a reliable and top choice brand for Vietnamese consumers.

Attending the event, Do Kieu Trang, deputy secretary of Long Thanh Youth Union, Dong Nai province, shared, "We are very grateful to have the companionship of enterprises such as AkzoNobel in activities to improve the quality of people's lives, enhancing education conditions for the young generation to develop comprehensively. The renovation of the school will help children in Long Thanh and other schools across the country have a better space for studying, playing, and practising."

On the same day, AkzoNobel organised the One AkzoNobel Community Day – an annual community initiative with employee participation. About 100 AkzoNobel employees helped to repaint walls and fences, create murals, plant trees, and clean up a school. Every year, the programme attracts AkzoNobel employees to help repaint schools and orphanages, donating essential items, and building libraries for children.
