Manulife Vietnam eagerly joins Hanoi Run for Children

Nearly 500 Manulife Vietnam staff and agents have taken part in the Hanoi Run for Children 2018 charity run, raising nearly VND200 million ($8,700) in donations to support disadvantaged children suffering from cancer and congenital heart diseases in Vietnam.

According to Manulife Vietnam CEO Kim Fleming, the company is very proud of bringing customers diversified financial solutions as well as excellent services in the past 19 years.

Not only that, the company always encourages and accompanies the community to lead a dynamic and healthy lifestyle, supporting disease prevention and treatment activities through financing sports events at home and abroad.

“That is why Manulife Vietnam has been supporting Hanoi Run for Children for the past 15 years, playing a part in bringing a healthier life for less fortunate children,” he said.

The Hanoi Run for Children 2018 attracted more than 7,000 participants and raised more than VND1.1 billion ($47,800) in funding.

The Hanoi Run for Children 2018, jointly held by the Canadian Embassy in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations, Manulife Vietnam, and VinaCapital Foundation, attracted more than 7,000 participants and raised more than VND1.1 billion ($47,800) in funding.

All the donations will be spent on supporting disadvantaged children with cancer and congenital heart diseases at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, the Hanoi Heart Hospital, and VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam.

Earlier on November 18, nearly 700 Manulife Vietnam staff and agents took part in the Terry Fox 2018 charity run, raising nearly VND200 million ($8,700) as a donation to an international pediatric oncology hematology research programme.

Thus, in the past month, the company has contributed around VND400 million ($17,400) to the pediatric oncology research programme and the programme to support disadvantaged children suffering from cancer and congenital heart diseases in Vietnam.

In addition, the company has been the main sponsor for the Danang International Marathon for the past three consecutive years.
