According to Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the show Legend of UVA will introduce the unique history and folk dances of the Thai ethnic culture to audiences.
The show is performed at the real scene of the Uva village cultural house. The entire stage is decorated with the characteristic mountains and forests of the Dien Bien region and the performance space is divided into different areas with constructed mountains, lakes, forests, houses, waterfalls, and streams.
The production will include the participation of folk artists, professional dancers, and amateur actors from the Noong Luong commune, with some experienced stage actors also involved to play the main characters and narrators.
The spaces are equipped with modern lighting and sound effects, along with 'dry ice' smoke generators, and rain curtains. Unique musical scores for each scene, influenced by contemporary and folk songs of the Thai people from the Dien Bien region, will permeate the performance.
The Legend of UVA is part of the opening programme of National Tourism Year 2024, and will be held at 6pm on March 13-17 in Uva village, Noong Luong commune, Dien Bien province.
The opening ceremony and Ban Flower Festival 2024 will take place on March 16 at 7-5 Square in Dien Bien Phu city.
