Lam Dong Cultural Day 2025 will take place in Hanoi from May 16-18 |
The event, organised by Lam Dong People’s Committee in coordination with various organisations, including the departments of culture, sports, and tourism of Lam Dong and Hanoi, will be held at the pedestrian street area around Hoan Kiem Lake.
The event will include a forum to connect culture, tourism, and commerce, exhibitions to introduce cultural tourism, architectural and planning heritage, OCOP items, and agricultural products.
It will also include an art programme themed “A Glimpse of Lam Dong in Hanoi”, which will harmoniously blend musical and artistic works about Lam Dong and Hanoi, reflecting the connection between the two regions. The performances will feature artists from the Central Highlands, showcasing the region’s distinct identity, alongside famous poetic works about Dalat and Hanoi performed by artists from the capital.
In addition, it will have spaces to exhibit the cultural essence of the locality, including displays of tea products.
Nguyen Trung Kien, director of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, stated, “Through this programme, Dalat - Lam Dong will affirm its position as a high-quality tourism hub, a destination that is safe, civilised, and friendly, the Flower Festival City of Vietnam, a UNESCO Creative City of Music, and an ‘ASEAN Clean Tourism City’.
“The event will also create opportunities for businesses, organisations, and individuals both domestically and internationally, especially in Hanoi, to explore, connect, and expand investment opportunities in this highly potential region,” said Kien.
Dinh Van Tuan, Deputy Chairman of Lam Dong People's Committee, said, "Lam Dong, after being merged with Binh Thuan and Dak Nong provinces, will have the largest natural area in the country at 24,233 square kiometres, with a population of 3,324,400 people. Such figures place Lam Dong among the top 10 localities with the largest economic scale in Vietnam."
In particular, along the East-West axis, the province has both a border with Cambodia and access to the sea, opening up vast development opportunities to become a centre for high-tech agriculture, tourism, and economy in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
“Based on the above potential, the province hopes to expand the market for its distinctive products linked to regional advantages and encourage the application of technology and innovation to develop tourism, trade, and cultural promotion,” Tuan said.
