Improving digital skills with AWS GameDay: F1 League 2023

Minh Le told VIR, “We have joined this competition for years, and we came first in the three previous events. This is a valuable opportunity for us to strengthen our teamwork skills while exchanging knowledge and experience.”

He added that this year saw a new platform for players that is different from the previous ones. His team did not gain as high a ranking as expected in the 2023 competition, as they secured the seventh position among the ten teams.

“Through the game, we found that we still lack some digital skills and knowledge, so we should learn more to improve,” he admitted.

In an effort to build these skills, Minh Le and his team had joined many playgrounds globally, including those in North America and others. The RenovaCloud team expects a better result in future competitions.

The winner of the 2023 GameDay

AWS GameDay is organised annually. It is a collaborative learning exercise that tests skills in implementing AWS solutions to solve real-world problems in a gamified, risk-free environment. It is a completely hands-on opportunity for technical professionals to explore AWS services, architecture patterns, best practices, and group cooperation.

This year, the AWS GameDay updated its solutions for data analytics and AI, which is a current tech trend in the market. The event attracted 10 teams from various countries across the region.

Due to demand from the financial services industry (FSI) for game-based learning, and with more to come, AWS Industry Quest is the first programme launched by AWS for the FSI. The inaugural event took place in November 2022. It is a new, interactive, and game-based learning experience for individuals and organisations to learn about building real-world cloud solutions for their specific industries.
