The event demonstrates the company's commitment to working with localities to protect the environment and create a healthier living environment.
IMP's board of directors and staff took part in the tree planting, and helped collect rubbish along Nha Trang Beach.
The activity is part of the ‘Nurturing Green Seeds - Drawing the Future’ campaign launched by the city in response to the plan to plant one billion trees in Vietnam from 2021-2025.
“We are trying to contribute to a small green area in Nha Trang, a coastal city that has been greatly affected by global climate change. As a leading pharmaceutical company in Vietnam, IMP has dual goals of preserving the environment while protecting people's health,” said Tran Thi Dao, Imexpharm general director, who is also a pharmacist and a recipient of the People's Doctor title.
These efforts by businesses like IMP are becoming increasingly important to Vietnam and other countries that are facing the threat of global climate change amid rising greenhouse gas emissions.
With a 3,200 km coastline, many cities in low-lying areas such as Nha Trang and in river deltas are suffering severe impacts from rising sea levels.
The World Bank assesses Vietnam as one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. Without appropriate adaptation and mitigation measures, it is estimated that climate change will cause Vietnam to lose from 12 to 14.5 per cent of GDP per year by 2050.

In recent years, Nha Trang has been planting forests to cover bare land and mountains to create a sustainable green environment for the city.
With the contributions of businesses like IMP, the city and its people will continue to plant more trees to create beautiful landscapes, provide fresh air, attract tourists, and reduce the harmful effects of climate change.
With a 45-year history, IMP has consistently prioritised environmental protection and sustainable development in its production practices and management.
This commitment lays the foundation for a new growth cycle, fuelled by four factory clusters, including three with eleven production lines that meet EU-GMP standards.
These standards demand strict adherence to environmentally friendly practices across the entire manufacturing process, including material sourcing, energy use, packaging recyclability, water conservation, and carbon reduction.
Notably, at factories such as IMP2 and IMP3, the company has built state-of-the art wastewater treatment systems according to European standards.
The company also compiles carbon emissions data quarterly which goes through every department before being submitted to the board of directors for approval.
This strict compliance has contributed to IMP's economic efficiency as well as to the environment and ecosystem in locations where the company operates.

According to IMP's Board of directors, to develop an ESG plan it chose the GRI Standards and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as reference to identify key sustainability areas and action plans.
“We have incorporated sustainable green living style into the company's culture to achieve the common goal of a green Vietnam. Each employee actively participates in environmental protection initiatives in production and the workplace such as saving electricity and limiting plastic waste,” the board said.
The fruits of sustainable investment have helped IMP overcome common difficulties and achieve impressive results.
At the end of 2023, the company's total gross revenue surpassed $88 million, showing a 26 per cent jump on-year, compared to the overall market growth rate of about 8 per cent.
At the same time, the company accelerated production capacity according to international standards and increased the ability to produce new, technically difficult generics drugs to promote the competitiveness of domestic drugs against imported products of the same type. Along with continuous improvements in the production process, IMP has been recognised for its green products, bringing sustainable values to customers, partners, and the ecosystem.
