Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate 50th anniversary of national reunification

Festive, cultural, and artistic events

1. Opening ceremony – “Colorus of Ho Chi Minh City”

• Time: 7:30 PM, April 19
• Location: In front of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, and Bach Dang Quay Park
• Activities: Symphony and choir performances, 3D mapping shows, traditional art performances, lion-dragon dances, water sports demonstrations, and a lantern boat parade.

2. “Reunified Homeland Festival”

• Time: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM, April 30
• Location: Nguyen Hue Street and Saigon River
• Activities: Art performances, boat parade, flyboarding, paragliding, and the “Bandana Dance.”

3. Drone light show

• Rehearsal: 10:00 PM, April 29
• Official show: 8:30 PM – 8:45 PM, April 30
• Location: Saigon River section from Thu Duc city to District 1
• Scale: 10,500 drones – set to break a Vietnamese record.

4. 3D Mapping light art performances

• Time: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM on April 19, 26, 29, and 30
• Location: Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building, 86 Le Thanh Ton street, District 1
• Special feature: Performances by French, Belgian, Singaporean, and Vietnamese artists

5. Fireworks displays

• Time: 9:00 PM – 9:15 PM on April 19, 26, and 30
• Location: Saigon River Park – Thu Duc city, and other selected sites

6. Exhibition & Film Screening: “Echoes of the Great Spring Victory of 1975”

• Time: April 26 – May 2
• Location: Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and city cinemas
• Activities: Exhibition of 300 historical film photos and community film screenings.

Other cultural events

• Vietnam book and reading culture day: April 19–21, at the Central Post Office and Nguyen Van Binh Book street
• Art installation exhibition: “From Bach Dang to the Great Victory of April 30”
