Herbalife Nutrition celebrates 10 years of sustainable growth in Vietnam

Herbalife Vietnam opened a new office in Danang on October 12, 2019 to meet the growing demand for Herbalife Nutrition products

As a nutrition company with high-quality and science-backed products, Herbalife Nutrition has been embraced by Vietnamese consumers to become a household name prioritising consumer satisfaction and sustainable growth. For the second year running, Herbalife Vietnam was recognised as one of the top 100 sustainable businesses by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and the company was also listed among the top 10 sustainable businesses in the trading and service category in 2018.

The Top 100 Sustainable Businesses ranking is based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) developed by the VCCI and updated annually by its experts and members, government authorities, local and international organisations, and a large number of independent experts. The index spans sustainability indicators in economic, environmental, and social areas, and are widely acknowledged as a benchmark for evaluating and ranking Vietnam’s sustainable businesses.

Four-time winner of Golden Product for Public Health

On October 12, 2019, Herbalife Vietnam was awarded the prestigious Golden Product for Public Health award for Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix – Cookies ‘n’ Cream, Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla flavours, Niteworks, Herbalife 24 Formula 1 Sport – Creamy Vanilla, Herbalife 24 Rebuild Strength – Chocolate, and Health Supplement: Personalised Protein Powder. This is the fourth time the company has been given this recognition.

Organised by the Vietnam Association of Functional Foods (VAFF), the award is based on four key evaluation criteria covering product safety and quality, product efficacy, high standards in production and trading, and outstanding contributions to the local economy and community.

The award seeks to recognise well-embraced functional food products and encourages improvements in the quality, safety, and effectiveness of these products in enhancing public health. The award also honours businesses which are law-abiding and support scientific research on new functional products with health benefits for consumers.

Long-term partnership with Vietnamese sports scene

Herbalife is a strong supporter of sports in Vietnam through its role as a nutrition sponsor and comprehensive co-operation with the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) and the Vietnam Paralympic Association (VPA) to help Vietnamese athletes achieve better performance in regional and international sporting events such as SEA Games, Para Games, ASIAD, and the Olympic Games between 2012 and 2021.

As part of these long-term partnerships, Herbalife Vietnam is also the official nutrition sponsor of Vietnamese top athletes joining the ASIAD 2018 and the Asian Para Games 2018 in Indonesia, during which Vietnam achieved very impressive results. In 2019, Herbalife Nutrition will be the official nutrition sponsor of Vietnam’s top athletes and coaches joining the SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games in the Philippines.

Active community contribution

Herbalife Vietnam supports Herbalife Nutrition Foundation and the Casa Herbalife Nutrition programme to provide daily healthy meals to children in need. The programme is helping about 1,000 children in Vietnam access good nutrition through four Casa Herbalife Nutrition programmes at Dong Tam Social Protection Center, Huong Duong Orphanage, Xa Dan Secondary School, and Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Charity Association (WOCA).

Independent members and employees of Herbalife Vietnam are among the active volunteers of community support activities such as visiting and taking care of needy children and donating blood to help patients nationwide. In the past two years, Herbalife Vietnam was given the CSR Award by the American Chamber of Commerce. This annual award is to recognise businesses’ commitment to transparency, good governance, sustainable business practices, and promoting best CSR practices.
