A seasoned hospitality professional with over 30 years of experience in Switzerland and Thailand, Gloor officially assumed the role in early February. Prior to this, he served as director of operations in Thailand, overseeing Fusion's expansion, including the launch of Fusion Suites Phuket Patong and GLOW Bangkok Riverside in 2024. His tenure with GLOW Hotels and Resorts, which began in 2014, saw him play a pivotal role in the brand's development and its eventual integration into Fusion Hotel Group following their merger in 2021.

In his new position, Gloor will oversee Fusion's expansion beyond Thailand and Vietnam, with a focus on Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. His responsibilities will include leading new property openings, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning the group's business strategy with evolving market demands.

Fusion Hotel Group's decision to expand its leadership structure comes amid growing demand for high-quality, wellness-focused hospitality offerings in Southeast Asia. The group has set an ambitious target of reaching 50 properties by 2028, capitalizing on rising tourism numbers and increasing interest in lifestyle-driven accommodations.

“Markus brings extensive operational expertise and a strategic mindset that will be critical in driving Fusion's continued growth,” said David Roberts, COO of Fusion Hotel Group. “His leadership will enhance staff engagement, elevate guest experiences, and support sustainable business development in Thailand and beyond.”

Under Gloor's leadership, Fusion and GLOW have solidified their position in Thailand's hospitality sector. The group now aims to accelerate its regional growth, with an ambitious target of reaching 50 properties by 2028.

Fusion and GLOW have already established a strong foothold in Thailand's hospitality sector, benefiting from the country's steady influx of international visitors. The group is now looking to replicate this success across neighbouring markets, leveraging its experience in integrating innovative wellness concepts into its properties.

As Fusion Hotel Group accelerates its development plans, Gloor's appointment signals the company's commitment to executing its long-term growth strategy, reinforcing its position as one of the leaders in wellness-focused hospitality across the region.
