The handover of Pfizer/BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine on July 7 |
The handover was attended by Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong, Christopher Klein, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the US Embassy Hanoi, and the representative of Pfizer Vietnam.
The batch is part of the 31 million COVID-19 vaccine doses developed by Pfizer/BioNtech to be delivered to Vietnam in 2021.
“The Ministry of Health (MoH) highly appreciates and thanks Pfizer for its support for the delivery of the vaccine,” Cuong said. “The first batch marks an important milestone for bilateral cooperation, contributing to the fight against the pandemic in Vietnam.”
“The MoH hopes that Pfizer ensures the progress of the delivery for the 31 million doses of Pfizer/BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine this year while considering supplying an additional 20 million doses and transferring production technology to Vietnam in the time to come,” Cuong noted.
As planned, other batches of COVID-19 Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine will arrive in Vietnam within July.
