The company contributed $35,000 in response to the VCF’s call in its Our Hearts to Central Vietnam campaign to support the relief efforts during the Molave typhoon in October 2020.

The fund was used to rebuild the completely damaged roof of the Tra Cang Commune Health Centre (CHC), provide medical emergency packages, and fix the water system, as well as rebuild the basement in Tra Leng CHC, build a new water tank, and solve the drainage problems.

In 2021, ExxonMobil funded $25,000 to VCF’s Survive to Thrive fund with the aim to reduce infant mortality in Quang Nam province through the provision of 13 life-saving neonatal devices to two mountainous hospitals Nam Giang and Phuoc Son.

Every day, 40-45 children receive health assessments from both district hospitals while their emergency units currently treat an average of 3-4 neonatal infants per day for issues such as premature births, respiratory failure, brain haemorrhage, diarrhoea, and jaundice. An estimate of 180 neonate beneficiaries will receive treatment per month with the donated medical equipment from ExxonMobil.
