When looking at music, Trinh Cong Son is considered a monument of musical works imbued with human philosophy, in terms of painting it is Buu Chi. While musicians show their emotions and sentiments via sounds and melodies, Buu Chi's feelings and suffering are hidden in every stroke. After his death, his paintings became rare treasures that were kept individually in different places.

The Time Captured Hand is a rare opportunity for Buu Chi’s fans, and art lovers in general, to wallow in the innermost feelings of the Buu Chi painting school.

At the exhibition

The exhibition introduces 30 works in various materials such as lacquer, canvas, and paper from the Rei Artspace collection, as well as some works borrowed from other collectors.

In addition to Buu Chi's artworks and stories, the exhibition also brings the public the eponymous limited edition art book The Time Captured Hand, including a biography of Buu Chi, his works, and articles about him.

According to curator Ly Doi, "After the success in Ho Chi Minh City, we considered many places and decided to choose Ana Mandara Dalat as the next place to hold the exhibition. Because here, in a dreamy and nostalgic heritage space, it will bring different experiences to the viewers. Art lovers are able to get closer and mingle with the pain and anguish of a unique Buu Chi school, which is human and reflects the thinking of an entire era."

Painter Le Thiet Cuong said, "This is the second time that I have had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition of painter Buu Chi's work. I knew that his paintings were owned by most collectors, but this exhibition was a surprise because of the large number of works. The more than 30 paintings were composed during an important period of his career from 1993 to 1997 when he was in France. It must be said that the beauty of Buu Chi is his ability to translate Parisian painting into Vietnamese."

Over the past 2 years, Ana Mandara Villas Dalat has become an ideal rendezvous for painting enthusiasts through activities, painting exhibitions, and creative camps, contributing to spreading the quintessence of art, connecting people who love beauty, and promoting the development of Vietnamese painting.

The exhibition is being held at the Le Lycée Artspace, Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa, from March 26 to May 26.
