More than 100 Japanese investors, with 200 more Vietnamese and Japanese attending online, participated in a conference to promote investment in the southern province of Dong Nai held in Tokyo on April 24.

Th conference was organised by Dong Nai People's Committee, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Sojitz Group, the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO), and the ASEAN - Japan Centre (AJC)

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai People's Committee, said, "46 countries and territories have now invested in Dong Nai, with more than 1,600 projects worth over $34.5 billion."

Among them, Japan is second on the list for the number of projects with 276, and third for the province's registered investment capital with $5.22 billion. Japanese-invested projects in the province have employed over 61,200 workers, including over 640 foreigners, making an important contribution to the socioeconomic development of the region.

With its advantages in geographical location, infrastructure, industrial parks, and especially Long Thanh International Airport, Dong Nai is considered a golden destination by Japanese investors.

Representatives of large-scale corporations such as Sojitz Group, Amata, Long Thanh Golf, SMC Group, and Pegasus all shared their investment experiences during th conference.

Questions posed by Japanese investors and businesses were answered by leaders of Dong Nai and local departments and branches, clarifying issues of concern.

Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Party Committee, also stated the province's investment attraction orientation and Dong Nai's infrastructure advantages.

At the same time, Linh recognised enthusiastic opinions from Japanese investors and businesses for the development of the province.

“With the spirit of inquiry and readiness to prepare the best conditions to welcome businesses and investors, we wish and expect to soon welcome a wave of investors and businesses, especially large Japanese corporations and companies involved in industry, trade and, services which will help transform the province's economic structure and achieve its targets," Linh emphasised.
