On March 25, the marketing and research organisation PotatoesUSA and A Au Vocational Guidance School-Hanoi Branchorganised the first round of their cooking contest with the participation of 20 young candidates coming from different vocational schools and centres in the city. The main ingredient for the dishes were American potatoes.

The contest also included a tailored seminar to share information about potatoes, such as nutritional values, cooking time, and other key data.

The programme was supervised by Doan Van Tuan, executive chef of Furama Resort, Furama Villas, and Ariyana Danang, as well as Nguyen Xuan Thanh, executive chef of Danang Airport Services JSC.

After the first round, the organising board granted the first prize worth VND3 million ($130), one second prize, and one third prize to candidates.

Cooking competition kicked off in Hanoi

The second elimination round will be organised in Ho Chi Minh City on April 1. The 14 winning teams will then go to the finals at Furama Resort Danang in July.
