Buses have been converted into mini-supermarkets in Ho Chi Minh City to sell food to residents during the coronavirus pandemic.

The mobile mini-supermarket is implemented by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with fruit and vegetable store chain Grove Fresh. The move aims to supply essential foods to local residents while reducing the burden on the modern retail channel.

On the inside, the buses are fitted with shelves of essential products such as meat, fish, rice, eggs, fruits, vegetables and seasonings. The buses travel to the suburban areas of the city to serve the need of the local consumers.

According to the representative of Grove Fresh, it took the company five days to set up the mobile mini-supermarkets. As of present, the company has rolled out four such buses with the hope of bringing clean food to consumers at stable prices, especially those who are finding it hard to buy food amidst the pandemic.
