Broadband summit and awards held in Vietnam

Typical telecommunications and cloud computing service providers were voted based on the results of a survey by IDG Vietnam on customer satisfaction nationwide using the services of providers.

The Vote Advisory Council includes representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communications; associations (VDCA, and REV); leaders of Telecommunications and IT companies; ICT experts and others.

The council is responsible for approving titles, evaluation criteria, survey content, number of survey samples. IDG is the implementing unit. Based on the results of the investigation, the council will evaluate and announce the awarded enterprise.

The survey was conducted between January 15 and March 15.

Addressing the event, Tran Duc Lai, chairman of REV said, “This year's event has a more special meaning than previous ones because the prime minister has approved the information and communications infrastructure planning for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which emphasises 5G mobile broadband and data centre infrastructure, and cloud computing is one of the important contents.”

He added that this year's event was also held in the context that broadband service providers and the ICT community are continuing to accelerate the implementation of digital technology, promoting the development of national and specialised databases.

This requires active improvements in broadband infrastructure. Value-added services on high-speed broadband platforms are playing an important role, providing favourable opportunities for Vietnamese agencies, units and businesses to implement digital transformation.

Winners of the 2024 awards included Amazon Web Services, FPT Smart Cloud, Google Vietnam, IBM Vietnam, MobiFone, Viettel Telecom, and VNPT.
