Ba Huan runs on real-time data thanks to SAP and FPT

Ba Huan has pioneered the application of FPT's modern and comprehensive digital technology system to transform its purely agricultural model. Thanks to this digital transformation, Ba Huan is aiming to keep pace with development trends globally and become a leading food solution provider in Vietnam.

The digital transformation platform, developed by FPT applications with an SAP core system, is designed to help Ba Huan's board of directors manage in real-time and create a seamless management process with strict oversight over every stage.

FPT's successful deployment of its closed management feed-farm-food system for Ba Huan includes the in-depth RISE with SAP solution set for the agricultural industry, with three sets of packaging solutions on the SAP platform, and three made by FPT applications. They are being applied across the entire Ba Huan network, including at its headquarters, factories, and subsidiaries located in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Long An, and Hanoi.

The SAP S/4HANA system with 8 subsystems is considered the backbone to help Ba Huan achieve best practices of international standard management specifically for the agriculture and livestock industry. Based on the SAP platform, FPT experts have developed three sets of packaged solutions: managing promotional programmes and policies through FPT Trade Promotion; transportation management via FPT Allocation Route; and business planning through FPT Planning.

In particular, FPT has developed for Ba Huan apps for animal husbandry management (Farm App), distribution management (Delivery App), and sales management (Sale Portal).

Tran Viet Hung, general director of Ba Huan JSC, pointed out the breakthrough changes that the system brings.

"Previously, when digital transformation was not applied, business operations were more time-consuming. It was inconvenient to capture information and handle situations between departments and divisions. Now, Ba Huan's leadership can follow activities from departments to farms across the country in real-time, and reports are updated several times a day," Hung said.

Ba Huan has developed synchronicity between its factories and farm facilities. It runs four production and processing factories and three livestock farms in Hanoi, Long An, and Binh Duong.

Along with a system of 65 cages and one egg incubation room, the Binh Duong farm has 22 cages for breeding chickens and laying hens. The Ben Luc farm has 29 cages for raising pullets and laying hens, while the Thanh Hoa farm has 14 broiler chicken barns.

The Farm App makes reporting compact, hassle-free, and less time-consuming. All information is updated, stored, and displayed through the app, which is directly connected to the SAP S/4HANA management system. Management can monitor the entire farming process in real-time, at anytime, and from anywhere.

Obstacles related to centralised quality management and the transportation of goods created challenges for Ba Huan in the past. However, it is now taking advantage of high-quality raw materials and support from the SAP technology platform to launch many different lines of processed foods that meet various consumer needs, reaffirming its position in the market.
