Continuing the success of last year’s Role Play Contest in Vietnam, the 20-year-old Japanese Role Play Contest is back to honour passionate and hard-working staff who embody AEONMALL’s philosophy: Customer First.
Role Play Contest 2019 was organised to encourage tenant staff to showcase their knowledge, understanding of customers, and professional skills in service. With the slogan “Touch the heart – Spread the smile”, Role Play Contest 2019 attracted nearly 400 contestants from four AEONMALL Vietnam shopping malls.
The event featured the presence of general director of AEONMALL Vietnam Iwamura Yasutsugu and chairwoman of the Vietnam Retailers Association Dinh Thi My Loan.
The event also included many activities for spectators, such as musical performances and minigames, bringing a lively atmosphere to the event.
Role Play Contest consists of three rounds, and to reach the finals, contestants had to go through two difficult elimination rounds. Each task required contestants to share their knowledge about goods and products as well as handle situations with ingenuity and skill, not to mention impeccable customer service attitude.
Participating in the competition, contestants had the chance to improve their excellence in customer services through training and workshops. At the end, 12 outstanding tenant staff were chosen to compete in the finals of Role Play Contest 2019.
In the finals, participants showcased their expertise in understanding customers’ needs through difficult interactions with customers. Not only were contestants challenged by professional actors who play as demanding guests, but their performance was thoroughly examined from the moment of greeting to send off.
In the course of six minutes, contestants were judged based on their behaviour, approach, appearance, and communication skills.
