The event highlighted the evolving direction of ACCA and its significant role in the global financial landscape. This year, 104 new members received ACCA certificates, while 86 long-standing members were honoured with the Fellow Chartered Certified Accountants title.

The ACCA 2023 New Member Ceremony also provided an invaluable networking hub for members to connect with fellow professionals and industry leaders. The event gathered hundreds of ACCA members, fostering valuable networking opportunities and providing insights to elevate their financial careers.
Bui Quoc Dung, deputy auditor general of the State Audit Office of Vietnam remarked, "ACCA is one of the key partners of the State Audit Office. Since signing a cooperation agreement in 2009, the State Audit Office and ACCA have effectively implemented a diverse range of cooperative activities to respond to the needs for innovation and the enhancement of human resource quality in the public sector."
ACCA's 2023 New Member Ceremony was far beyond a celebration, it was a testament to ACCA's commitment to shaping a better future for the world through the expertise and dedication of its members as a professional accountancy body.
Joseph Owolabi, president of ACCA Global, highlighted that this occasion represented a transformative moment for ACCA members, shaping them into proficient financial experts who are poised to positively impact the world. He also identified Vietnam as a rapidly growing market, reinforcing the organisation's commitment to nurturing its financial evolution.
Owolabi shared, “The world of finance and accountancy is ever-evolving, and the roles of the certified accountants within it are pivotal. Each one of the members here adds to the value of ACCA and the accounting and auditing industry. Together, we can drive positive change, foster innovation, and contribute meaningfully to the global financial landscape.”
Dr. Vu Duc Chinh, director of the Accounting and Auditing Supervisory Department under the Ministry of Finance, also highly appreciates ACCA certificates.
He stated, "In the current phase of opening up and deeper international integration, Vietnam is aiming to internationalise its auditor workforce and gain international recognition for the Vietnamese accounting and auditing system, both in the private and public sectors. The presence of global professional organisations in Vietnam, such as ACCA, has paved the way for Vietnamese auditors to achieve international standards."

The event featured a special wheelchair-bound member named Huong Pham, currently working as the brand ambassador of Deloitte Vietnam. She shared her life story and memorable journey with ACCA.
"My legs were paralysed after a fever when I was just 13 days old, but it couldn't deter my passion for learning. ACCA has opened many doors for me, helping me advance my career and expand my professional network," she said.

Established in 1904, ACCA is a globally recognised professional accountancy body, with a presence in 179 countries through 110 offices and centres. It collaborates with over 7,300 partner organisations worldwide, supporting 233,000 members and 544,000 students.
In Vietnam, ACCA boasts over 1,300 members who hold key positions in government agencies, corporations, banks, and enterprises, both domestically and internationally. The ACCA certificate is an internationally recognised qualification in finance and accounting, showcasing one’s expertise and professional competence.
