500 kV transmission line Vung Ang-Quang Trach-Doc Soi-Pleiku 2 officially energises

The transmission line was turned on on July 31. It has a length of 742 kilometres with a total investment capital of VND11.95 trillion ($519.56 million) by EVNNPT.
The project is composed of building a 500kV double-circuit transmission line going through nine cities and provinces. Besides this, it combines distribution yards and optical repeater stations and three operation bases.
The construction was started in December 2018 by EVNNPT and the transmission will be operated and managed by Central Project Management Board.
The transmission line plays an important role in enhancing the 500kV grid transmission capacity of the national power system; absorbing renewable energy sources in the region; contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the south and the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Danang, among others.
