Themed Digital Transformation – Faster, Smarter, Greener, the forum will be held by VIR under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Discussions will focus on digital transformation stories in various industries, the government’s upcoming policies, lessons from regional countries, how digital transformation can be accelerated when 5G is commercialised, and how businesses can contribute to this effort.
Vietnam’s national strategies on digital transformation, socioeconomic development, and green growth for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 clearly highlight the importance of digital transformation and the digital economy in driving the nation’s next wave of inclusive and sustained development. It defines that regulations, infrastructure, individuals, and businesses all play an essential role.

5G is considered an important tool to promote digital transformation in all fields, from manufacturing, education, healthcare, agriculture, finance and banking, and energy to commerce and services. Many business models, even entirely new industries and services, are emerging, replacing traditional ones thanks to new technologies.
2021 pushed the whole country into digital transformation and was also marked by a strong growth in the number of ICT enterprises. Entering 2022, this is considered a year when digital transformation was strongly promoted in all industries on a comprehensive national scale.
Recently, the manufacturing, banking, and e-commerce sectors have been making leaps and bounds in applying digital technology to go faster, smarter and greener. However, there remain numerous challenges ahead that need involvement from all stakeholders to achieve this vision.
As the fourth year of the national digital transformation, 2023 is important to create results and practical value.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said, "2023 is the year that must produce practical results in the implementation of national strategies. They include, the Digital Government Strategy, the Digital Economy and Digital Society Strategy, the Cybersecurity and Safety Strategy, the Digital Data Strategy, the Digital Infrastructure Strategy, and the Digital Technology Industry Strategy."
