A total of 115 companies from Vietnam have been named among the Best Companies to Work for in Asia by HR Asia |
“At HR Asia, we take pride in recognising companies that have demonstrated world-class employee engagement and employers from Vietnam managed to double their efforts in prioritising employee experience despite navigating uncertainties amid the pandemic,” said William Ng, group publisher and editor-in-chief of Business Media International, publisher of HR Asia. “As the lockdown movement continues to disrupt business operations globally, companies based in Vietnam understand the importance of having engaging employees to achieve sustainable results as it motivates them to contribute their best to the business.”
This year, approximately 30,000 employees from 581 companies in Vietnam responded to the Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM) survey, HR Asia’s proprietary employee engagement survey.
The in-depth survey provides companies with a unique 360-degree insight of their employees’ morale, their needs and expectations, as well as their engagement levels.
With over 50,000 copies distributed of every issue, and an online and offline audience exceeding 200,000, HR Asia is the go-to brand for HR professionals seeking quality business intelligence and industry updates. |
The leading sentiment across all surveyed companies is “We willingly assist colleagues who require assistance” followed by “I will go above and beyond to achieve the goals of the organisation” and “I constantly look for ways I can improve my contributions and my role at this organisation.”
Along with this, 81 per cent of respondents are motivated towards self-improvement which indicates strong alignment and trust amongst employees and their leaders and organisational growth values.
Over 81 per cent of respondents felt that they are willing to go beyond their day-to-day responsibilities to assist in other areas of business. This not only indicates a high level of motivation but also shows a willingness to help out colleagues.
More than 82 per cent of respondents said that they would willingly assist colleagues who require assistance, indicating good workplace culture and teamwork.
Rated lowest in the survey were sentiments like “Our organisation involves employees when establishing or enforcing corporate structures/policies” followed by “Our organisation values flexibility over processes” and “Our organisation continues to communicate with former employees.”
Accordingly, 67.8 per cent of respondents do not feel that their employer communicates with them once they leave. Though employees resign for various reasons, burning bridges is not a good move professionally, as former employees may still harbour goodwill towards the company, and may even return one day.
More than 69 per cent of respondents at some point in the company observed flexibility which could indicate trust between employees, however, work productivity could be affected by too much flexibility in practice.
Over 71 per cent of respondents felt that they are excluded from corporate decision-making. It may indicate rigid hierarchies and that employers need to take the employee perspective into greater consideration.
