Vietnam Beverage Co., Ltd. has just handed over disaster relief donations worth more than $16,300 to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees in three north central and central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai and Quang Binh.

During the period before and after the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet), Vietnam Beverage will coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committees to deliver the donations to 15 primary, middle and high schools in these three localities.

The donations include stretchers, first-aid kits, flashlights, life jackets, and lifebuoys, which will help enhance safety at schools frequently hit by storms and disasters.

The programme is a joint initiative by Vietnam Beverage, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev), not-for-profit organisation C asean, and the Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation.

Vietnam Beverage has actively implemented CSR initiatives supporting education and targeting future generations.

“We are very happy in continuing to contribute to disaster relief efforts and reduction of damage at schools in the three provinces,” said Nguyen Hai Son, Vietnam Beverage representative, at the hand-over ceremony at Ha Tinh Fatherland Front Committee.

“In the future, we will look for opportunities to continue our supporting activities in the provinces, especially in disaster preparedness and study assistance.”

Son added that Vietnam Beverage is part of TCC Group from Thailand with a well-established tradition of investment in Vietnam.

“Children are the future of the country, therefore, in our CSR activities in Vietnam, we care much about children and want to help them live and study in a better environment. The schools benefitting from our donations are ones that have been severely affected by natural disasters since 2020,” he said.

From 2019 to 2022, the company was the Silver and the Bronze sponsor for the “Swing for the Kids” charity golf tournament, organised by Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) to raise funds for valuable scholarships to give to excellent students facing difficult circumstances.

In June 2021, responding to the Vietnamese government’s call, TCC Group – the parent company of ThaiBev and Vietnam Beverage – coordinated with the Sirivadhanabhakdi Foundation to contribute $1 million to buy vaccines.

In addition, ThaiBev, through Vietnam Beverage, has invested in Saigon Beverage Corporation since 2017.

ThaiBev is also embracing sustainable development, with many support activities devoted to education and disaster relief in Thailand.

Going forward, ThaiBev will continue seeking opportunities to support sustainable development in Vietnam, especially in education and disaster relief for localities vulnerable to natural disasters.
