Hanoi leads with 10 new additions: five Bib Gourmand and five MICHELIN Selected. Ho Chi Minh City adds seven, including one new One-Star restaurant and six MICHELIN Selected venues. Danang contributes seven new entries, comprising four Bib Gourmand and three MICHELIN Selected.

The Green Star this year goes to Lamai Garden in Hanoi, newly awarded for its exemplary sustainability practices.

Reimagined by chef-owner Hieu Trung Tran in 2022, the restaurant champions a contemporary Vietnamese farm-to-table concept. Diners are led through a lush garden to an open kitchen with counter seating, where seasonal and vegetarian tasting menus highlight ingredients sourced directly from the chef’s farm in Phu Tho. Standout dishes include the inventive squid “noodles”, inspired by Pho Chua.

The Starred list sees the debut of CieL in Ho Chi Minh City, which joins the guide with a One MICHELIN Star for its innovative cuisine, refined techniques, and intimate atmosphere. Also in Ho Chi Minh City, Coco Dining has been promoted to one Star, praised for chef Thanh Vuong Vo’s modern interpretation of Vietnamese recipes, featuring fermentation and contemporary flair.

These additions join returning one-star restaurants including Gia, Hibana by Koki, and Tam Vi in Hanoi; Long Trieu, Anan Saigon, and Akuna in Ho Chi Minh City; and La Maison 1888 in Danang.

The Bib Gourmand list continues to grow, now celebrating 63 establishments, including nine newcomers. In Hanoi, new entries include Ha Thanh Mansion, Mau Dich No.37, Mien Luon Chan Cam, Pho Bo Lam and Uu Dam. Danang adds Banh Xeo 76, Bun Bo Hue Ba Thuong, Que Xua and Shamballa to its ranks.

Beyond the MICHELIN Stars and Bib Gourmand, the guide also highlights restaurants in its MICHELIN Selected category, venues that impressed inspectors with their high-quality cuisine. This year, 14 new names have joined the 109-strong list, reflecting Vietnam’s vibrant culinary talent and consistency across its three major cities.

Gwendal Poullennec, international director of MICHELIN Guides, noted the growing depth and diversity of Vietnam’s gastronomic landscape.

“This year, we are proud to witness a rise in the number of Starred restaurants, driven by a new generation of talented chefs. Many are returning to their roots, using modern techniques to tell stories of their hometowns and to revive childhood flavours. At the same time, street food stalls, family-run eateries, and long-standing local shops continue to preserve culinary traditions with authenticity and passion,” he said.

“For our inspectors, the journey of discovering new restaurants in Vietnam remains as exciting as ever. They have been inspired by the dedication, creativity, and pursuit of excellence shown by culinary professionals across the country, and they are eager to uncover even more gems in the years to come,” he added.

With its expanded selection and special awards, the MICHELIN Guide Vietnam 2025 not only celebrates culinary excellence but also honours the individuals and values that elevate the dining experience. From fine dining to humble street fare, Vietnam’s food scene continues to captivate both inspectors and diners alike.
