Vietnamese children will need improved protection on the network environment |
The programme aims to protect children’s secret private life while preventing and dealing with injuries and harms done to children on the network environment. It also helps equip children at different ages with the necessary knowledge and skills so that they can recognise danger and protect themselves.
The programme will create a healthy and safe environment, develop an ecosystem of Vietnamese products and applications for children for creative learning, connectivity, and entertainment.
The programme involves several ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Public Security, and social organisations, as well as IT businesses.
To realise the goal, some initiatives, tasks, and solutions have been worked out. In particular, deploying new technology solutions (such as AI and big data) to automate gathering, analysing, and giving warning, preventing and dealing with any content violating children protection rules or those doing harm to children.
Building and implementing programmes, supporting actions and encouraging businesses to develop solutions and initiatives, technical solutions on information security to protect children on the network environment, while proposing a mechanism to make orders for businesses to supply Vietnamese-made products and services to support children in this environment.
Building education and training programmes to equip children with knowledge about the internet, social networks, and skills to ensure information security, as well as protect personal private information and detect harms and encroachments on the network environment.
Deploying technical solutions at schools to supervise, filter, and prevent access to illegal and inappropriate content with pupils and students of different ages.
On May 26, Minister of Information and Communications issued Decision No.716/QD-BTTTT on the establishment of children protection and rescue network on the network environment with the involvement of many state organs, organisations, and businesses who will support the MIC in increasing state management efficiency in the performance of tasks on preventing and fighting against encroachments on children's rights and safety on the network environment, and improving public awareness about this.
