Mothers play an incredibly important role in ensuring the home is a welcoming place. They take care of everything for the family, from daily routines, and everyday expenses to education, and entertainment. Along with the inherent role of being a wife and mother, spending decisions are a top concern.
Launched in late 2021, VIB Family Link was the first credit card on the market designed to assist parents with household expenditures and child care. The card's features closely align with the needs of Vietnamese families, particularly those with small children, who prioritise life experiences, investing in education, life insurance, and healthcare, as well as dining out on weekends.
Over the years, this card series has brought joy to tens of thousands of households through points awarded for family expenses such as healthcare, education, insurance, birthday celebrations, and wedding anniversaries.
VIB Family Link cardholders enjoy simultaneous offers from VIB's partner ecosystem, including up to 40 per cent off with VIB Travel, up to 30 per cent off with VIB Dine, up to 20 per cent off with VIB Shop, and up to 20 per cent off with VIB Move for transportation.
More than 130 reputable VIB partner brands offer benefits through the Family Link card, such as Qatar Airways, Trip.com, Agoda, Grab, Lazada, Shopee, CellphoneS, The Face Shop, and Beauty Box, as well as the InterContinental Saigon, Park Hyatt Saigon, Sofitel Saigon Plaza, and New World Saigon hotels, plus many more.
Cardholders can enjoy an interest free instalment payment with no fee at all educational institutions and training centres nationwide. Parents only need to choose a course suitable for their child's age and desires, then contact the VIB hotline to register for an instalment plan over 3–6 months. This offer makes it more convenient for parents to lay the foundation for future generations.
One of VIB's priorities lately has been to listen to users on how the bank should upgrade product features and services. Since the end of April, the Family Link credit card has been upgraded with additional offers to closely match the continuously changing needs of Vietnamese families.
Cardholders can now choose to register for one of three spending categories–Education, Healthcare, Insurance–and receive up to 10 per cent cashback, which can be changed at any time throughout the card's lifecycle in just a few seconds via the MyVIB digital bank. Other spending categories receive 0.1 per cent cashback on total transactions. The maximum cashback limit is 1,000,000 reward points per statement period.
VIB also offers an educational insurance package for children worth up to VND11.5 million ($452) and accident insurance for cardholders worth up to VN15 million ($590)–replacing the previous global travel insurance package.
Additionally, the annual fee will be reduced to only VND499,000 ($19.60) for the primary card and VND250,000 ($9.80) for supplementary cards. Moreover, the primary card will enjoy a lifetime 50 per cent fee waiver, reducing it to VND250,000 ($9.80) if the card is opened and linked with a spouse's card within 30 days.
To increase touchpoints with users, VIB is partnering with the reality TV show 'SuperMom' to bring banking products and services closer to modern families. During the first episodes of the programme, viewers can hear inspiring child-rearing practices from famous mothers.
In addition, the show also provides practical perspectives and methods for raising children, including guiding children on how to spend wisely.
Joining the VIB and Super Mom partnership from May to the end of July is the Mykingdom toy brand, offering exclusive discounts of 30 per cent for Family Link credit card holders.
Open a new VIB Family Link credit card from now until June 30 and cardholders will also enjoy additional benefits: a waiver of the first-year annual fee for the primary card and two supplementary cards, an additional 10 per cent cashback on spending within 90 days of card issuance (up to VND1.5 million or around $60), and a children's helmet worth VND1 million ($40) as a gift. |
