The United States Mission to Vietnam, through the Office of Defense Cooperation, advanced ongoing bilateral efforts in educational infrastructure and disaster relief by handing over Trieu Thuan Kindergarten to Quang Tri People's Committee on April 17.

Funded by the United States Indo-Pacific Command through the Overseas Humanitarian Disaster Assistance and Civic Action Program, the newly constructed two-story kindergarten stands as a beacon of hope for the community. It will serve as a centre for education for the children of Trieu Thuan commune, and provide shelter for people in need during natural disasters, reaffirming the United States’ commitment to the wellbeing of Vietnam in times of crisis.

The heart of this project stems from the collaborative efforts of the US Office of Defense Cooperation in Vietnam and Quang Tri province, who jointly identified the need for such a facility in March 2021. Through their partnership, tangible progress has been made to address the educational and safety needs of communities in the region.

Comprising six fully furnished classrooms and two teachers' rooms, Trieu Thuan Kindergarten serves as a symbol of hope, unity, and progress, and stands as testament to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the US and Vietnam.

The construction and support for this initiative were made possible through the collective efforts of Chuong Duong Company, New Horizon Company, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and Quang Tri People’s Committee. The handover ceremony reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering education, promoting resilience, and building stronger communities, reflecting the enduring bond of friendship between the US and Vietnam.
