In Ben Tre, the Tiep Suc Nha Nong programme granted support to 20 farmer households, empowering women to improve their livelihoods |
Stemming from the company’s expertise in comprehensive farming solutions, GreenFeed commits to supporting the livelihood of rural women, empowering them to alleviate poverty sustainably. The programme’s total relief fund in 2020 is over VND7 billion ($304,350).
Initiated since 2010, Tiep Suc Nha Nong – the joint-programme of GreenFeed Vietnam and Tuoi Tre Newspaper – aims to improve the livelihoods of farmer households by providing interest-free loans, supporting feed expenses, providing husbandry training, awarding scholarships to beneficiaries’ children with good academic results, and rewarding outstanding farmers.
Over the 10-year journey, the programme has been accompanying more than 2,000 farming households in 16 provinces and cities across the country. The programme fund has exceeded VND52 billion ($2.26 million), with 93 per cent of households having successfully returned the initial loan after two years.
On December 27, Tiep Suc Nha Nong presented support to 80 farmers living in Kim Dong, Yen My district, Hung Yen province and Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien district, Hai Duong province, which are the last two localities of this year’s journey.
Phan Thi Loan Thao (Tay An commune, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province) has returned to her hometown due to the pandemic after working in Ho Chi Minh City for many years. She and her husband had to start from scratch with a modest investment. Thanks to the support from GreenFeed, Loan Thao is now planning to invest in husbandry to improve their living |
Vuong Quang Hung, deputy head of Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Hung Yen Party Committee said, “The support from GreenFeed and Tiep Suc Nha Nong are truly meaningful and benevolent for Hung Yen and Hai Duong people. On behalf of the communities, we would like to thank GreenFeed for keeping and expanding support over the years. This has significantly improved the lives of many households. We hope Tiep Suc Nha Nong will continue to deliver more help to people each year.”
In addition to the initial fund, Tiep Suc Nha Nong also provides updated and technical husbandry knowledge to ensure effective farming and profitability, thereby upgrading the economy and quality of beneficiary lives.
As social responsibility is one of the company’s core business activities, GreenFeed commits to maintaining and enhancing support to different societies and communities, especially women living in rural areas.
Recently, GreenFeed has joined hands with its partners and customers along the clean food chain to donate more than VND7 billion to the disaster-affected people in the central region. The support includes providing healthy food (via G Kitchen products), building flood-proof houses, supporting post-flood livelihoods by providing breeders, animal feed, as well as books for children.
