The Vietnam Industrial Property Forum’s Green Future Awards were carried out this year through a strict selection process, with preliminary and final rounds.
Stringent rules underpin awards

For industrial parks (IPs), leading criteria includes the following:

- Compliance with environmental protection regulations

- Having a green development strategy and orientation according to ESG standards

- Managing and organising according to an eco-IP model

- Having full basic services in IPs according to the provision of law, including essential infrastructure

- Planning or implementing a coordination mechanism to monitor input and output on the use of materials, water, energy, and chemicals

- Publishing an annual report on environmental protection and social responsibility towards the community.

For manufacturing enterprises in IPs, leading criteria consisted of collecting and treatment of wastewater, solid waste, and dust; hazardous and production technology standards; waste treatment technology; boasting certificates of environmental protection standards; and having a green development strategy and investing in communication in green development.

The selection panel consisted of Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief and Nguyen Van Hong, deputy-editor-in-chief of VIR; and Truong Gia Bao and Nguyen Van Tien, vice chairmen of the Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Association, representing for the organisers.

Other independent members are experts in green and industrial property development, including Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, chairman of Global Integration and Business Consulting (GIBC), is a circular economy expert. Trai is a businessman who has managed many large companies. He was the first Vietnamese person to hold a regional leadership position at a leading multinational corporation, at PepsiCo Indochina. He is also a member of the Institute for Circular Economy Development, and chairman of Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam.

Also involved was Trang Le, head of Research and Consulting, JLL Vietnam. With over 13 years of experience as a professional consultant with 10 years of involvement in the real estate market, Trang is responsible for the leadership, production, and management of consultancy and market research reports produced by the department. In 2022, Trang added the role of senior consulting director for Asia-Pacific for JLL, based in Vietnam.
