Singapore - Singapore will host the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2020, which is set to take place between December 5, 2021 and January 1, 2022.
The country gained a majority of votes for hosting the event during a session held by the AFF on September 28.
Singapore was selected as it met all of the criteria set by the AFF, including the government’s support, safety and health management, risk management within the COVID situation, venue and facilities, and experience in organising competitions amid COVID-19.
The city-state will host the sport tournament at three venues, including its 55,000-seat national stadium, over-6,000-seat Jalan Besar stadium, and over-6,000-seat Bishan stadium.
This year’s teams have been divided into two groups.
Group A consists of Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Singapore and the winners of the play-off between Brunei and Timor-Leste on December 1.
Group B comprises defending champions Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos.
