The ceremony to announce the fifth season of the popular TV show, 'Whose Chance?' and to reveal the international copyright holders of the show, took place in Hanoi on April 27. This was a milestone event marking the efforts and aspirations of local programme producers to reach the world by exporting the Vietnamese TV show format, affirming the position of Vietnam's entertainment industry in the international arena.

'Whose Chance?', which was co-produced by VTV and ALO Media, is a reality show about job seeking in Vietnam, and the gap between employers and employees. The show creates a job exchange, where the recruitment criteria, wage, and remuneration are openly negotiated on air to give audiences a fair view of the labour market and average salaries.

Over four seasons of broadcasting, the show has seen the participation of well-known business leaders such as Le Duc Thuan, chairman of Bao Ngoc Investment and Production JSC; Luu Nga, founder of Elise Fashion brand; Hoang Nam Tien, vice chairman of FPT University; and Duong Long Thanh, chairman of Thang Loi Group, among many others.

At the ceremony, Cao The Anh, chairman and CEO of ALO Media, the owner of the copyright to the show's format, presented highlights from the Vietnamese show and revealed that Global Agency, one of the world's leading TV content producers, will seek to produce and market the show for an international audience

Izzet Pinto, founder and CEO of Global Agency, said that the company's primary goal is to distribute the format to major markets such as the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and Germany.

“The format has great potential to be a worldwide hit because nowadays, people want to find their ideal job, but they are also looking to negotiate on the best possible terms. The format is very exciting, as already proved by its success in Vietnam, so the show will have a lot of global appeal," Pinto said.

Last month, 'Whose Chance?' was officially presented at the MIPTV media trade show in Cannes, France. The show was one of three formats selected by Global Agency to be pitched here. This wasn't the first international honour for the show, as it was first introduced to an audience outside Vietnam at the Asia TV Forum held in December 2022 in Singapore.

After being honoured as one of the Top 3 Most Impressive Entertainment Programmes at last year's VTV Awards, the fifth season of 'Whose Chance?' was announced by VTV at the event to be broadcast on VTV3 from October 2023.
