Nestlé honoured as Excellent Business by Dong Nai province

Nestlé Vietnam has been honoured at the awarding ceremony for Excellent Businesses and Excellent Entrepreneur in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The awarding ceremony also announced the outstanding businesses and entrepreneurs contributing to the socio-economic development of the province over the last three years (2016-2018).

As a foreign-invested firm, Nestlé Vietnam was recognised for its good performance in at three areas of business, environmental protection, and social welfare.

Established in Dong Nai in 1995, Nestlé Vietnam operates four facilities, three of which are in Dong Nai, and one in Hung Yen, with a total of 2,200 employees. Nestlé has invested more than $560 million in Vietnam and is one of the foreign-invested enterprises contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

The leader of the province said that despite the numerous difficulties caused by international economic fluctuations, businesses in Dong Nai still develop at a strong pace, contributing to the reaching and surpassing of most provincial socio-economic targets. "Businesses and entrepreneurs have significantly contributed to the development of Dong Nai in particular and the country in general," he said.

Being awarded with the "Excellent Entrepreneur" title is a great honour for 17 entrepreneurs in Dong Nai province. We understand that to be qualified with this recognition, in addition to the support from provincial leaders, entrepreneurs and their employees have made significant efforts to improve the business performance, to create quality products and build great brands, as well as to contribute to the communities through meaningful social programs.

Furthermore, one important factor that contributes to the overall businesses’ successes is the support from an enabling government through proper policies and concrete actions to encourage private sector’s development.

Vietnamese government's directions to facilitate the investment environment and start-ups in general and Dong Nai province’s policies in particular have created trust and encouraged businesses to grow continuously. In return, these have helped promote regional socio-economic development and international economic integration.

In the future, we are looking forward to receiving continued support from Dong Nai provincial leaders through favourable mechanisms and policies, active administrative reforms that could bring about the best conditions for enterprises to develop further.

At the awarding ceremony, Ganesan Ampalavanar, CEO of Nestlé Vietnam, was honoured with the Excellent Entrepreneur title for his contributions. He said that Dong Nai is a major market for the long-term development of Netlé Vietnam, and they pledged to pour more into the province.
