During the conference, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement to raise awareness about the role of proper nutrition and promote an active lifestyle for at least the next year.

Within the framework of this long-term partnership, the two sides will also deepen their cooperation on clinical research to provide scientific evidence as the foundation for developing intervention studies and communication activities related to school nutrition. These will contribute to the National Nutrition Strategy in the 2021–2030 period, through to 2045.

Tran Thanh Duong, director of the National Institute of Nutrition, said, "We greatly appreciate Nestlé Vietnam's collaboration on nutrition studies as well as efforts in developing school sports to build healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle for Vietnamese children. This agreement demonstrates the commitment between the parties to contribute to improving the health, stature, and physical activity of the Vietnamese people."

Binu Jacob, general director of Nestlé Vietnam, said, “Nestlé aims to optimise the role of food in improving the quality of life for generations to come. This cooperation agreement marks an important milestone in realising this commitment.”

Over the last couple of years, the National Institute of Nutrition partnered with Nestlé Vietnam to carry out research on the effectiveness of the company's barley milk product, 'Nestlé Milo' on the nutritional status, and physical and mental health of elementary students in Ninh Binh.

The results indicated that the consumption of Nestlé Milo, combined with regular physical activity, improved the stature of elementary students after three months, including speed, strength, endurance, dexterity, and coordination.

The National Institute of Nutrition and Nestlé Vietnam will continue to strengthen their partnership to improve the eating habits and physical education of children and students.
