The South Korean carrier will operate two weekly flights on the new route, said Nguyen Van Thanh, director of Khanh Hoa province’s tourism promotion agency.

“It is expected that 200 South Korean tourists will take the Korean Air flight to get here and we are prepared for a ceremony to welcome these special guests,” said Thanh.

South Korea emerges as one of the biggest visitor-generating markets for the province’s tourism sector, along with Russia, Australia, the U.S., Japan, France and Germany. Previously, several chartered flights brought South Korean passengers to the central coast province via Cam Ranh airport.

At present, there have been regular chartered flights from Russia’s Far East to the province through the airport every week.
