In the first phase from November 15 to December 31, 2021, Khanh Hoa will utilise sequestered resorts on Long Beach in the northern Cam Ranh Peninsula.

In the second phase, from January 1 to March 31 next year, visitors will be allowed at more tourist destinations and resorts which are located away from residential areas such as Vinpearl on Hon Tre island, Merperle Hon Tam, and Champa island.

Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the province expects to receive domestic tourists who have the relevant documents on COVID-19 vaccinations, before preparing to welcome international guests.

Khanh Hoa will focus on source markets that have brought the pandemic under control, such as China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Australia, and Northern Europe, as well as North America.

International visitors with vaccine passports to Khanh Hoa will follow closed programmes, closely monitored by travel companies and competent agencies.

Many resorts in northern Cam Ranh peninsula tourist areas such as The Anam, Radisson Blu, Movenpick Cam Ranh, and Cam Ranh Riviera have reopened to guests since October. In Nha Trang, Champa Island Nha Trang Resort has also opened to domestic tourists after meeting the criteria of being a “green” resort.

Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has been working with its Ho Chi Minh City counterpart on a plan to develop tours for visitors to and from both destinations from this month, under the requirements of ensuring safety against the pandemic.

The committee said that the tourism sector contributes more than 45 per cent of the provincial GDP, and not only creates jobs for local people but also contributes to selling agricultural and aquatic products to tourists.
