Hanoi also made the list, coming in 12th place. Other prominent destinations featured include Chiang Mai and Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Singapore.
In addition to its regional recognition, Hoi An was also ranked sixth among the 25 best cities in the world.
Once a bustling trading port in Southeast Asia, Hoi An is today known for its well-preserved architectural heritage, winding rivers and canals, and a harmonious blend of local and international cultural influences.
The city’s unique charm lies in its tiled roofs, ancient houses, temples, and assembly halls, reflecting centuries of cultural convergence. Its historical and architectural value led UNESCO to recognise Hoi An as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1999.
