From July 19, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport will use five high-speed ships to transport essential goods from the Mekong Delta provinces to Ho Chi Minh City and back.

Particularly, essential goods transported will include food as well as medical equipment and materials for pandemic prevention and control.

These ships will travel from ports and inland waterways in Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long provinces to Bach Dang wharf, Ho Chi Minh City and back.

The five high-speed ships have an average capacity of about 20 tonnes of cargo. Shipping costs are agreed by Green Dp Technology Co., Ltd. (ship owner) with organisations and individuals that need to transport goods, with stable and appropriate costs.

The ships will transport goods between 6 am and 7 pm. In case of stable operation, the city Department of Transport will consider adjusting operating hours.

Captains and crews must be have received at least the first COVID-19 vaccine and test negative for SARS-CoV2 according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health. When entering and leaving inland ports, only one crew member will be sent ashore to carry out procedures.
