Hanoi: 48.5 per cent of workers in industrial zones vaccinated against COVID-19

As many as 48.5 per cent of labourers in industrial zones (IZs) in Hanoi were vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines, said Tran Thi Nhi Ha, director of Hanoi Department of Health at a meeting on COVID-19 prevention and fight on August 20.

Giving priority for IZ workers is part of Hanoi's efforts to maintain business activities while clamping down on the pandemic.

To date, Hanoi got nearly two million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and administered over 1.71 million doses, Ha added. the city will accelerate vaccination in the upcoming days.

Between April 27 and August 20, Hanoi reported about 2,700 COVID-19 infection cases. The city is operating 10,600 sickbeds for COVID-19 treatment. It has also directed private hospitals to reserve 40 per cent of sickbeds for COVID-19 treatment.

Hanoi is now home to nine operating IZs with an occupancy rate of over 95 per cent.
