VertZéro is designed to meet global standards for emissions reporting and GHG removal, such as ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and other standards.
The solution can assist organisations in addressing green standards in multiple markets and is being applied throughout several processes at FPT Software, including data collection and systematisation; identification of sources and emission factors; calculation of emissions; and strategic planning.
The goal is to help the company proactively embrace inventory GHGs in three scopes by connecting and synchronising data from 30 countries and building standard emission coefficients with customisation options for each region.
With the current system of regulations and standards for sustainable development around the world, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, international businesses, especially in Europe and Japan, are seeking ways to comply. Systems that allow firms to monitor data related to supply chain sustainability are becoming more and more of interest to FPT's major global partners.
"This project will further facilitate FPT Software’s sustainable growth and net-zero software solutions, boasting greater impact for the company's customers in reducing carbon emission," said Tran Dang Hoa, chairman of FPT IS. “FPT IS commits to accompanying customers and partners on their green transformation in Vietnam and globally with effective solutions and cutting-edge technologies, as well as contributing to Vietnam’s goal of becoming Net-Zero by 2050.”

“Over recent years, sustainability and green economy have been in the spotlight of the global concern and our customers, with carbon auditing staying a cornerstone. As FPT Software strives to become Net-Zero and be at the forefront of change and innovation towards a sustainable future for all, this movement enables us to accelerate our green transformation, as well as assist our home country, Vietnam, in achieving the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) goals by 2030,” stated Nguyen Khai Hoan, FPT Software’s senior executive vice president.
Tran Duc Tri Quang, chief data officer, FPT IS said, "FPT Software, as a technology company, relies heavily on information systems to manage its fundamental operational activities. This reliance plays a crucial role in optimising time and ensuring accurate data collection for emission audits. However, the most significant challenge for the project lies in establishing a database of emission factors according to the standards of over 30 countries, ensuring the most accurate emission reporting for each region possible. This project will also be instrumental in our continued partnership with Vietnamese enterprises in their strategies to meet green standards, aiming to become sustainable organisations alongside them."

Putting the carbon market to work The Paris Agreement, adopted in 2015, represents a historic global effort to combat climate change with the primary goal is to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels, with an aspiration to keep it within 1.5°C. Achieving this ambitious goal is contingent on the collective efforts of nations to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. |
