FPT IS marks 30th anniversary with vision for the future

The unique concept combined team building, a music festival, and camping, offering an extraordinary series of activities over 24 hours and creating unforgettable experiences and new records for the employees.

The event highlighted the company's impressive corporate culture and introduced a new way of creating value within the business in the context of its transformation.

The 3,200 employees were divided into 30 teams to compete in more than 50 challenges throughout the 24-hour event, including running races, music video production, adventure sports, water park challenges, and team-building exercises.

Each team had a captain, and was structured like a startup company with members from various departments, all connected and adhering to the rules and scoring system.

With unprecedented scale and complexity, all the activities, information, and interactions were operated through an event app - FIS 30 The Next, developed by the FPT IS team. Real-time updates on team and individual rankings created a competitive and exciting atmosphere throughout the event.

Professionalism was a key focus of the entire event and a core value that FPT IS aims to instil in its business culture.

“Professionalism in every action will be the guiding principle for FPT IS to effectively accompany domestic customers and strive to meet world-class standards as we expand globally,” shared Nguyen Hoang Minh, CEO of FPT IS.

The company is currently focusing on developing markets in Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and investing heavily in enhancing the global mindset and capabilities of each employee through specialised training courses in expertise, skills, and language proficiency to prepare for the new phase.

On this new journey, the FPT IS leadership team and all employees have adopted a new mission, ‘Co-create the Next’, to collaborate and create together.

The company has set its transition path from a technology solutions and services provider, inheriting and elevating values, to become a comprehensive partner on every customer's development journey, collaborating with them to shape the future.

The 30-year journey has witnessed significant transformations at FPT IS, rooted in historical values and market adaptability.

The establishment context bestowed upon FPT IS a crucial mission: to utilise IT to serve core industries, and create the opportunity to participate in and lead the development of national backbone systems.

In 2007, at a customer conference event, Do Cao Bao, member of the Board of Directors of FPT and former chairman of FPT IS, noted, “FPT IS aspires to be the main contractor for large projects. We do not want to be subcontractors, we want to show that Vietnamese enterprises can fully meet the requirements of large domestic technology projects.”

That statement elevated FPT IS to an entirely new position in the market - being a distinct entity compared to its competitors. In 2008, FPT IS became a general contractor for the first time with a project to provide a personal income tax management application system for the General Department of Taxation, worth $14.5 million.

Subsequently, large-scale and high-value management systems for Petrolimex, financial switching systems, technology systems for major banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, Agribank, and critical national systems for Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, and more have become the pride of FPT IS and FPT employees.

The ability to execute large, complex, and national-scale projects is in the blood of FPT IS employees, with new milestones such as the 100-day rescue of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and pioneering the implementation of the D06 project across various sectors.

The next significant shift occurred five years ago with the milestone of "A New Day".

At the event, nearly 3,000 people marched and welcomed the dawn on Canh Duong beach. Nguyen Hoang Minh, CEO of FPT IS, called for the development of ‘Made by FPT IS’ products, opening a new development phase to meet market demands.

Understanding the challenges facing various industries and sectors has driven FPT IS to innovate and create its own products, rather than relying on other providers.

FPT IS products are developed based on real-world customer problems and needs, capturing market trends, and are trusted by over 3,000 customers, matching the quality of international products and meeting comprehensive needs in the banking, enterprise, government, and healthcare sectors.

In 2023, revenue from FPT IS products reached $54.2 million, affirming the strategy's vision as well as spreading the new spirit among all FPT IS employees.

‘The Next’ event marked a new milestone on the foundation of 30 years of inherited values. With those important core values and internal readiness, FPT IS expects to continue affirming its mark in the next wave of technology in Vietnam and globally, as a trusted partner with enterprises and organisations to explore the power of technology.
