First "make in Vietnam" blockchain network launched

1Matrix JSC introduced its blockchain layer 1 network on May 6, marking a significant advancement in blockchain technology in Vietnam.

As part of an ecosystem including Techcombank, One Mount Group, Masterise Group, Techcom Securities, and a member of the Vietnam Blockchain Association, 1Matrix is not only a technology enterprise, but also the chief architect of strategic digital infrastructure.

In addition, universities and educational institutions have the opportunity to receive prizes worth $8,000 per institution when they have participating teams that achieve first place in any of the themes.

The company is on a mission to build the "make in Vietnam" blockchain network, as pledged at the sixth annual national forum on the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises, to help Vietnam take the lead in blockchain technology, laying the groundwork for significant advancements in the digital technology era.

“Taking full control over technology and owning intellectual property in the blockchain field not only helps Vietnam proactively apply technology to the development of the digital economy, digital society, and digital future, but also strengthens national sovereignty over data, information security, and elevates Vietnam’s position on the international stage,” said Phan Duc Trung, chairman of the Board of Directors of 1Matrix JSC and chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association.

According to a Politburo resolution, blockchain has been identified as a strategic technology, and building a high-quality workforce is a top priority.

In the national blockchain strategy on the application and development of blockchain technology, Vietnam aims to become a leading country in the region and establish an international position in the industry.

Lieutenant General Dang Vu Son, former head of the government's Cipher Committee, emphasised, “For Vietnam to truly make its mark on the global digital technology map, we need more innovative individuals, businesses like 1Matrix, and a technology ecosystem with depth and uniqueness.”

In addition to focusing on researching, developing, and operating the blockchain network, 1Matrix JSC is also a pioneering unit in providing comprehensive blockchain solutions for businesses and public-private organisations.

Furthermore, it contributes to building the national blockchain ecosystem and network, promoting digital transformation, and raising awareness within the community about new technology fields.

Recognising that the quality of human resources is a crucial factor directly impacting the development of the blockchain industry in Vietnam, the company has organised a contest to discover, nurture and gradually build high-quality human resources for the country’s blockchain technology industry.

Searching for Vietnamese blockchain talents: VietChain talents 2025, launched on May 6, and will close the submission portal on June 20, with a total prize pool of up to $140,000, focusing on four themes.

The first prize in the blockchain layer 1 theme is valued at $40,000, while the top prize for the remaining three themes, centralised and decentralised exchange, blockchain traceability, and blockchain bridge, is $20,000 each.
