Enterprises with robust green transformation strategies in 2024 |
Two enterprises were honoured for their outstanding green transformation strategies in 2024. Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam is a strategic alliance between Japan's Suntory Group and PepsiCo from the United States. After three decades of operation, the company operates five factories and five offices across the country, along with a diverse product portfolio.
Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam's sustainable development strategy focuses on six main areas, especially helping the country reach its 2050 net-zero goal.
The company has applied many initiatives in production to save natural resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including the conversion from fossil fuel use to renewable energy in all the factories. The company continuously innovates the cooperation model to create greater impacts on the environment and the community, including cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop sustainable forests for the conservation of water sources and carbon neutrality.
Meanwhile, NS BlueScope Vietnam belongs to Australian Bluescope Group, a colour-plated steel and steel manufacturing unit with the first investment worth $120 million in Vietnam in 2005.
NS BlueScope Vietnam has a sustainable development roadmap and reduces carbon emissions in the environmental, social, and governance path with the goal that in 2030, the company’s production will reduce 30 per cent of carbon emissions.
In May, the company received a responsible steel production certification, becoming the first plating steel factory in Southeast Asia to achieve it. The factory also received a LEED Gold certificate in October 2021.
Four enterprises were recognised for their green transformation strategies in 2024. The first was Tien Phong Plastic South, established in 2007 with its headquarters and factories located in Binh Duong province.
An extended arm that supplies Tien Phong plastic pipes, Tien Phong Plastic South produces and distributes all types of uPVC, PP-R, and HDPE pipes for the construction market.
After more than 17 years, the factory has continuously expanded its production area, and increased factory and warehouse space. To date, its pipe distribution system has developed widely across the country and the Tien Phong Plastic brand has gradually become familiar to customers and constructions in the southern market.
Plastic pipe maker Binh Minh Plastic also makes various types of spare parts for the water supply and drainage industry, as well as industrial and civil construction. After nearly half a century, Binh Minh plastic has not only become the pride of high-quality Vietnamese goods, but it also pioneers in the plastic construction materials industry in Vietnam.
Binh Minh Plastic associates itself with economic growth, environmental protection, and social responsibility, which it says are the factors that play a fundamental role in its long-term success.
The third company to be praised was Dai Dung Construction Mechanical, a supplier of steel structural production, which supplies materials for more than 2500 works and exports to more than 50 countries and territories around the world.
The company owns six main factory clusters with a total area of over 100 hectares, reaching a total annual capacity of up to 300,000 tonnes with one factory that meets LEED Gold V4 standards - the next generation standard for design, construction, operating, and efficiency of green buildings.
Finally, entering the Vietnam market in 1993, Sika Vietnam is a 100 per cent Swiss Company, under Sika AG Group.
Company leaders say a sustainable solution is a solution that is capable of meeting the wishes of economic, ecological, social, and cultural management of the current generation without affecting the demand of the next generation.
Sustainable development is also one of the core values of Sika Group. The company owns many certificates such as ISO 9001/14001/45001, and Green Label certification as a member of the VGBC Green Construction Council.
