Doosan takes responsibility for fire at Vinh Tan 4 thermal power plant

Doosan, the construction contractor at Vinh Tan 4 thermal power plant, announced that it would take all responsibility for the recent fire.

As reported by newswire VnExpress, Doosan made the statement to the Ministry of Industry and Trade during the investigation following the incident. According to the ministry, Doosan said it would replace all the equipment that was damaged if they were allowed into the scene of the fire soon. The company said it would soon restore the plant back to before the fire and get the construction process back on track.

Doosan also committed to cooperate with related government agencies and fulfil its responsibility to the victims of the fire. It would also review its work process and supervision process at the construction site, meet with all the subcontractors and ensure that from now on there be no further safety mistakes.

Tran Van Luong, director of the Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency under the ministry, said that today the investigation committee would withdraw from the scene and give it back to the contractor.

The fire at Vinh Tan 4 thermal power plant in Binh Thuan was reported at 10.45 am on March 7, 2017. Two Doosan workers suffered from burn while they’re trying to put out the fire and were transported to the hospital. The two were reported to be recovering well. One of them has been discharged from the hospital and the other will be soon.
