At the United Nations' Climate Change Summit in 2021 (COP26), Vietnam made a bold promise to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 to address climate change on a global scale.
Pawalit Ua Amornwanit, CEO of CPV, said, "We are clearly aware of the importance of the environment and the responsible use of natural resources throughout our business operations. As a company operating in the agro-industrial and food business, CPV is constantly working to achieve sustainable agriculture by developing a modern, smart, and ecologically responsible production and business model."
CPV adopts energy-use policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including increasing the rate of renewable energy use (biomass energy, biogas energy, and solar energy), applying innovative technology in the production process and promoting sustainable development. Renewable energy currently contributes 38 per cent of energy use in business operations at CPV, with the company proudly declaring its complete cessation of coal use in 2021.
Additionally, CPV uses machinery and equipment with low-energy consumption and high production efficiency to minimise fuel consumption and waste generation. The company has also implemented automated production systems and streamlined production processes.

CPV prioritises the community through various environmental and social projects in addition to internal company greening initiatives. The company has been implementing the planting and caring for 1.5 million trees in Vietnamese provinces and cities affected by climate change, natural disasters, floods, and other natural disasters, to help balance emissions, restore the ecosystem, and support Vietnam's goal of planting one billion trees.
These are significant initial steps in the challenging path towards net-zero. Through sustainable development efforts, the company hopes to work with the government for a green and sustainable future.
