Nearly 100 former employees joined Citi Vietnam's recent alumni events |
The global Citi Alumni Network comprises over 30,000 former employees across more than 100 countries, representing over 300 companies. Citi created the alumni network to allow former employees to stay connected with their fellow alumni and the bank. Former employees can also get certain benefits as they did as employees.
Through the alumni network, Citi’s alumni can learn about job opportunities at the bank and other non-profit events organised by Citi. The bank shares regular updates on open positions being recruited for.
Sixty per cent of those who joined the alumni network in 2021 signed up to receive updates on open job positions at Citi. The bank has benefited from the significant interest of alumni wanting to return to work at Citi. In 2021, Citi hired 4,000 of its alumni globally.
Internal referrals are also bolstered by inputs from the Citi alumni network. “Former Citi employees understand our organisation, systems and internal culture, so they can better recommend candidates who might be a good fit for an open role. Alumni referrals carry a lot of weight. We want to stay connected with our alumni and enable them to consider opportunities to come back to Citi,” said Citi Vietnam’s country officer Ramachandran A.S.
Citi Vietnam's alumni have not only pursued careers in financial services companies but have established themselves as business leaders in various industries outside the financial industry.
The Citi alumni events recognise and honour the contributions of former employees who have gone on to exhibit special leadership in Network Development, Leadership and Ingenuity, or Community Investing and Development.
To celebrate the alumni network’s 10th anniversary this year, Citi added Sustainability and ESG as a new category to honour former employees who develop and implement sustainable activities and strategies in their business or community.
