Bosch Vietnam will co-operate with FPT in smart transportation

Bosch Vietnam will co-operate with FPT to develop and provide smart transportation solutions in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

FPT IS will act as a system integrator and provider of technology services, while Bosch Vietnam will provide hardware and security and safety management platforms which can manage up to 200,000 security points. The two parties will build up and deploy smart transportation solutions suitable to the characteristics of different major cities and local towns in order to solve current issues, moving towards safe transportation and secure society models.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Danang are three pilot cities in the ASEAN Smart Cities Network. In addition to e-government and connected buildings, smart transportation is a key factor of smart city models. In the coming time, every route in major cities is expected to be furnished with innovative management and surveillance solutions. Furthermore, other provinces are also planning to implement smart transportation systems in order to alleviate manual labour costs in management.

In the next five years, special-class and first-class municipalities are projected to be equipped with smart transportation solutions. At the same time, Myanmar and Cambodia are forecast to undergo significant transformation, thanks to foreign investment to develop urban transportation systems. Grasping this tremendous potential, Bosch Vietnam and FPT IS will build up smart and innovative solutions catering to civilians’ needs.

With over 100 years of experience, Bosch is a leading global provider of security, safety, and communications technologies in diverse industries. In particular, Bosch has implemented Video Surveillance systems with modern Intelligent Video Analytics feature and platforms that enable users to manage and operate up to 200,000 security points simultaneously, as well as technologies which are developed on the concept of AI and machine learning for hundreds of major transportation projects globally. Moreover, public address systems and video-based fire detection solution are also applied at many critical projects to enhance security for people and vehicles.

Experienced in the field of transportation, FPT IS has already been researching improvements to public transportation networks. At the moment, FPT IS is covering four key areas: law and enforcement, traffic infrastructure management, terminal management, and especially intelligent transportation systems (ITS) – which is also a focus of Bosch Vietnam.

With this co-operation, road transportation systems in municipalities will be upgraded with smart surveillance and management systems. To be precise, implemented solutions include Video Surveillance systems used for traffic management tasks such as post-incident fines, traffic flow optimisation and density measurement, and urban planning topics such as route improvement, expansion or adjustment in major traffic points.

“We are pleased to co-operate with FPT IS in providing smart transportation solutions for the three potential markets of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar,” said Becky Vo, country head at Bosch Building Technologies (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar). “FPT IS is an experienced system integrator in Vietnam, and we believe our technologies will help upgrade management standards in regional transportation and strongly contribute to the process of building smart urban cities. That will bring a safer and more secure life to the people.”

“This strategic co-operation is an opportunity for both sides to exchange best practices and build long-term co-operation in the field of transportation,” said Duong Dung Trieu, chairman of FPT IS’s Board of Members. “One of our missions is to bring a happy life to the community, and we will focus on researching and developing technology solutions to resolve issues in urbanisation by approaching innovation and building smart urban cities.”
