Thailand's Bangkok Airways will launch new air services linking Thailand to Van Don District of Quang Ninh Province and to the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho following its successful maiden flight from the neighboring country to Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province, on January 25, according to Nguyen Son Thuy, director of Indochina Unique Tourist Co., Ltd.

“The firm welcomed some VIP guests, such as the chairman of Thailand Travel Agents Association, representatives of golf and meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions associations and leaders of Thailand’s city tourism departments on the first flight,” Thuy said.

Bangkok Airways will operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on the air route, using Airbus A319 aircraft with 144 seats.

The Thai airline is currently supplying air services linking Thailand’s localities and some Vietnamese destinations such as Hanoi, Danang and HCMC, as well as Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province.

Thailand reportedly attracted 970,000 Vietnamese visitors in 2017 and 1 million in 2018, while Vietnam welcomed 302,000 and 350,000 Thai travelers, respectively, in these two years.

Meanwhile, Indochina Unique Tourist has been the carrier’s main partner for years, providing many tourism services to Thai tourists in Vietnam.
